The game is definitely the most easily understood casino card games, but it also has a relatively larger house edge compared to other games.

The game is usually played with six standard 52 card decks. The aces are always high while the other hand ranking remains the same as that for other poker variants.

You and the dealer are each dealt a card. Whoever has the higher card wins the hand. Winning bets are paid even money. Winning Tie bets are paid 10-1. The player is given two options if there is a tie:

1. Surrender -You lose the hand and lose half the wager.
2. Go to War - You raise your bet by an amount equal to the original wager and "Go to War".

Going to War

Click on "Go to War" to raise your bet by an amount equal to your original bet, at which point the dealer will put aside the next three cards in the deck and deal the fourth card face up to you and the fifth one to herself. If you win the war (your card is the same or higher than the dealer's), you'll be paid even money on your raise wager and your original wager will push. If you lose the war (your card is lower than the dealer's), you lose both the original and raise wager.

The side bet

You have the option to place a "Tie" wager at any point before you click deal. You can do this by placing an amount on the Tie spot. You are paid out 10-1 if your first card ties the dealer's first card. Any cards dealt during a war are not counted in this wager.
