History of Casino Games

Casino games started long ago where the earliest signs of gambling games started from bets about the outcome of events. These kind of games covered and influenced all ancient cultures that includes Greece, Egypt, and Rome.

People made various kinds of materials for use in their gambling games. The materials usually used in gambling are disks or bones that properly marked. These disks or bones are the forerunners of the dice, along with the spinning well or the shields.

Cards did not come until later after the invention of the paper by the Chinese. It is noticeable that these materials are the basic foundation where the modern casino games began their evolution.

The dice games were played and existed in different forms for about two thousand years. These games were usually played with a dice that is fashioned from a sheep's knucklebones. None are the more fervent aficionados of these games than the Romans. When the Roman troops conquered the whole of Europe, they brought along the dice games.

A dice game played by aristocrats, called Hazard, during the 18th and 19th centuries was very popular in England. Hazard is played in gambling houses in private. In this game, a pair of ones, called crabs, is the lowest possible score.
